Landowners Names and Maps

A series of detailed maps, produced from the originals by Geoff Gwatkin, and based on tithe, enclosure and other surveys of the 18th and 19th centuries, where available, giving as full a view of settlement, land use, field-names, ancient boundaries, etc., as possible.  The maps are accompanied by a schedule giving the names of the owners of each parcel of land, where known.

The maps are far more informative than a mere list of names. Looking at them you can see the medieval village, i.e. where the common fields, woods, tracks, meadows, village centre, outlying farms and quarries lay.
