Ancestors of Samuel Bird from Clutton Somerset (General)

Hi,
On the 1840 census my GGGrandfather Samuel Bird with his wife Priscilla(Nee Dagger), is given as living in Clutton in Somerset where Samuel was a Lime Burner. No details of his parents are given.
Does anyone know if his family originated in the Forest of Dean as I have been told that that is where many of those who worked in the mines in Somerset came from originally.
