Interception of the King's Gold (General)

Many moons ago I read an on-line article about the interception of a consignment of coinage in, or around the Forest of Dean during the reign of George III (1760-1820). Due to problems with my aged PC I have lost reference to the site that hosted the story.
Can anyone help with any documented source of this incident and whether the alleged culprits were hanged or transported, and possibly any reference to their family names?
To date, I have had no luck searching the Gloucester asizes or transportation records
