GSIA was formed in 1963 to promote the study of our industrial
heritage, particularly that of Gloucestershire. Our activities include
lectures, walks, fieldwork, coach trips, an Annual Journal and regular

The Newent Local History Society is long established. Over years, it
has produced much material which is available through the county record
office and regularly answers queries from all over the world about
local history and families. They decided to bring their researches
together and make them more easily available by writing a book -
